Homemade Chocolate Sauce

A basic "go-to" homemade chocolate sauce is a must when it comes to desserts! The following recipe gives plain melted chocolate a little kick...

Ingredients:
1/4 cup heavy cream
6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon good honey
1 1/2 tablespoons coffee

Directions:
1. On a double broiler, slowly melt the chocolate in the heavy cream just until smooth.

2. Add the honey and the coffee over medium heat until combined.

3. Remove the chocolate mixture from the heat.

4. If using a bag to pipe the chocolate sauce or drizzle it over a dessert which is meant to be served cold wait until it reaches room temperature to work with it. (If using for a dessert such as profiteroles you can serve the chocolate immediately and while still warm.)
